Open space is a big deal in my community. The city is wrapped with open space that circles it like a doughnut. On the southern end the open space is directly in front of Green Mountain and Bear Peak. In June the fields are lush with growth and the air has a sweetness to it that rivals any garden spot. It is this open space program that became a model for the rest of the country as cities everywhere adopted an open space policy similar to the one that yielded this image.
